What it does

BD has the main diagnostic abilities of professional scantools for the body modules: current and history trouble codes, plus live readings of each module's status and configuration.

Body control module

Read and clear BCM faults and view live sensor, relay and security data.

Instrument cluster

Faults, live data, start-up logo, configuration, fuel settings and police mode.

SRS airbags

Read airbag faults and view detailed SRS live data for every airbag loop.

Factory radio

Read radio fault codes and information about the radio fitted.

Instrument cluster

Make the cluster your own

Change the standard Holden start-up logo, or show off a custom shutdown message. Choose from 3 start-up logos and 13 preconfigured shutdown messages, or set a custom message and build number. This was normally limited to HSVs, but can now be set on any cluster.

  • 3 start-up logos
  • 13 shutdown messages, or your own
  • Custom build number

Cluster configuration

A must-have when changing a cluster

An invalid cluster configuration is what sets the infamous SRS warning light after a cluster change. BD reads and writes the cluster's most common parameters to fix it, and to change transmission type, engine size (V6/V8), speedo calibration and options such as seat belt or occupant climate control. There's also the famous police mode, which sets a large digital speedo on any VY cluster.

  • Fix the SRS light after a cluster swap
  • Transmission, engine size and speedo calibration
  • Police mode on VY clusters

SRS airbags

Find what's causing that airbag light

Starting the car with the passenger seat removed is a common way to set an SRS fault. BD shows every current and history fault in the SRS module with its DTC number and a detailed description. If the fault log isn't enough, SRS live data shows the current resistance and capacitance of each airbag loop, and whether the module has been deployed before.

  • Current and history SRS faults
  • Live resistance and capacitance
  • Shows previous deployment

Body control module

Track down intermittent faults

Read current and history BCM fault codes, and view live data for sensors, indicators, relays and security. Slip ring and key status show whether a valid key has been detected, or whether a connection issue between the key and slip ring is stopping the car from starting.

Frequently asked questions

How does the BD subscription work?

Each purchase is a 30-day subscription licence for one computer. The 30 days start when you register the licence on your computer, and the licence expires at the end of the period.

Does BD include an ALDL cable?

No. This listing is the software only. BD is designed for use with our ALDL Cable v2, sold separately. Already have an Envyous ALDL cable? You can use it with BD.

What's the difference between BD and SDT?

SRS Diagnostic Tool (SDT) is a dedicated airbag program with a one-off licence. BD covers the airbag module as well as the body control module, instrument cluster and factory radio, as a 30-day subscription.

Will BD fix the SRS light after a cluster swap?

An invalid cluster configuration is the usual cause. BD's configuration table reads and writes the cluster settings so you can correct it.

Can I install it on more than one computer?

Each licence registers the software to one computer. A licence serial can only be used once and can't be transferred to another computer later. See Software Licensing for the details.

Do I need internet access?

Yes. Registration needs an internet connection, and offline activation isn't available.

Which version of Windows do I need?

A genuine, activated copy of Windows 10 or 11. Virtual machines and emulators aren't supported. See Computer Requirements.

How do I get the software after I buy it?

Your licence serial is emailed to you after purchase and is also available in your account. Download the software installer from our Downloads page.

What if my computer crashes or gets wiped?

Make a full image backup of your computer after you register the software. Licences can't be reissued, so the backup is how you get your licence back after a crash or wipe.
