About This Service

When an LS1 ECU is custom-tuned, the tuner can set a security key that locks the file inside the ECU. This stops anyone — including you — reading or editing that tune in the future unless they know the key. If the original tuner is gone, has stopped responding, or you’ve bought a second-hand vehicle or ECU, that locked key is a dead end.

Our service extracts the current key from your ECU and resets it back to the factory GM key. After the reset, any standard LS1 tuning software (EFI Live, HP Tuners, etc.) will be able to read, edit and write the ECU like normal — you’re back in full control of your tune.

We also tell you which tuning software was originally used on your ECU, so you know exactly which program to open the file with for any further work — no guesswork, no wasted trial-and-error.
