The Transmission Control Module (TCM) in your Pontiac G8 controls 6-speed automatic shift timing, line pressure, torque converter lockup and ongoing shift adaptation. When you fit a replacement or second-hand TCM — including the 6L80E behind the L76 / LS3 V8s or the 6L50 behind the V6 — it must be VIN-security-linked to your vehicle before it will respond and shift correctly.
This is a DIY kit. We ship you an OBDSync scantool plus the tokens needed to license the module — you run the programming yourself at home using a Windows laptop, and the module never has to leave your vehicle.
