Program your Pontiac G8 (2008–2009) Radio Series 1 head unit at home — security-link a replacement, change the logo / theme, enable aux input, Bluetooth text and additional languages. DIY OBDSync kit — includes the scantool plus 2 tokens.
If your G8 has the higher-spec Series 2 IQ unit instead, see the separate Radio Series 2 IQ Programming listing. The same kit also programs other G8 modules at $50 per token.
Security-link a replacement Series 1 head unit on your Pontiac G8, change the logo / theme, enable aux input, Bluetooth text and additional languages. We ship you an OBDSync scantool plus 2 tokens so you can complete the programming yourself — and unlock dozens of other G8 module functions too — from home.
The Radio Series 1 head unit is the base AM/FM/CD radio fitted to the standard Pontiac G8 and G8 GT — it pairs with the SIC display for radio info and dual-gauge readouts, supports a factory aux input, and on some builds Bluetooth phone audio with text display. When you fit a replacement or second-hand Series 1 unit, it must be security-linked to your vehicle and reconfigured for the exact options you want enabled.
This is a DIY kit. We ship you an OBDSync scantool plus the tokens needed to license the module — you run the programming yourself at home using a Windows laptop, and the module never has to leave your vehicle.
Same kit, more capability: the OBDSync software also programs the BCM, IPC, ECM, TCM, ABS/EBCM, Radio Series 2 IQ, HVAC, SDM, SIC, RFA and other G8 modules. Each additional module is licensed separately with its own tokens, and some modules need more than one token (tokens are $50 each), so once you’ve got the kit you can take care of future programming any time — just add the tokens you need.
This kit unlocks the full set of Radio Series 1 functions available through OBDSync for your Pontiac G8 (2008–2009):
