Program your Pontiac G8 (2008–2009) Engine Control Module (ECM) at home — flash the latest factory calibrations, VIN-security-link a replacement, and run all ECM learn procedures. DIY OBDSync kit — includes the scantool plus 2 tokens.
Covers V6 (LY7), GT (L76 V8) and GXP (LS3 V8) drivetrains. The same kit also programs other G8 modules (BCM, IPC, TCM, EBCM, Radio Series 1 / Series 2 IQ and more) — each is licensed separately and may need one or more tokens, at $50 per token.
Flash the latest factory calibrations to your Pontiac G8 Engine Control Module, VIN-security-link a replacement, and run crankshaft / clutch position learns. We ship you an OBDSync scantool plus 2 tokens so you can complete the programming yourself — and unlock dozens of other G8 module functions too — from home.
The Engine Control Module (ECM) in your Pontiac G8 manages fuel injection, ignition timing, throttle response, idle control and the immobiliser handshake. The G8 was built in Australia on the VE Commodore platform and uses the same family of GM Gen IV V8 (L76, LS3) and 3.6L Alloytec V6 (LY7) ECMs. When you fit a replacement or second-hand ECM, it must be VIN-security-linked to your vehicle and crankshaft position variation re-learned before the engine runs correctly.
This is a DIY kit. We ship you an OBDSync scantool plus the tokens needed to license the module — you run the programming yourself at home using a Windows laptop, and the module never has to leave your vehicle.
Same kit, more capability: the OBDSync software also programs the BCM, IPC, TCM, ABS/EBCM, Radio Series 1 / Series 2 IQ, HVAC, SDM, SIC, RFA and other G8 modules. Each additional module is licensed separately with its own tokens, and some modules need more than one token (tokens are $50 each), so once you’ve got the kit you can take care of future programming any time — just add the tokens you need.
This kit unlocks the full set of Engine Control Module functions available through OBDSync for your Pontiac G8 (2008–2009):
