The Trailer Interface Module (TIM) on your VF Commodore or HSV Gen-F drives the factory tow-pack wiring — managing trailer brake light, indicator, tail light and reverse light signals, plus the trailer wiring fault detection that the cluster relies on. When the TIM is replaced (typically after a factory tow pack failure or wiring fault), the module needs to be security linked to your VIN and loaded with the correct calibrations to operate.
All programming is done in the vehicle via OBD-II using OBDSync on a Windows laptop — no need to remove or ship the TIM.
The TIM job uses 1 token, but the OBDSync kit ships with a 2-token serial as standard — you’ll have 1 spare token on your account for any other supported module job.
