The Steering Column Lock Module (SCLM) on your VF Commodore or HSV Gen-F controls the electric anti-theft column lock that engages when the key / fob is removed. When the SCLM is replaced — either due to a fault, lock-out condition, or column service — the new module needs to be security linked to your VIN and loaded with the correct factory calibrations before the column will release and the car will allow steering.
All programming is done in the vehicle via OBD-II using OBDSync on a Windows laptop — no need to remove or ship the SCLM.
