About the E67 ECU & Why It Fails

The E67 is the engine control module fitted to the HSV LSA 6.2L supercharged V8 across the Gen-F and Gen-F2 ranges. When it fails, the vehicle won’t start — or it’ll start but throw a range of internal-fault codes. Common symptoms include:

  • No-start condition
  • No-start with clicking throttle body & relays
  • Injector or coil issues
  • Loss of communication to the engine computer when using a scantool
  • Fault code P0606 — ECU processor fault
  • Fault code P062B — ECU internal performance malfunction
  • Fault code P00C9 — fuel pressure regulator positive circuit malfunction
  • Fault code P0091 — fuel pressure regulator control circuit malfunction
  • Fault code U0140 — lost communication with BCM
  • Fault code U0155 — lost communication with instrument cluster

Once the E67 is confirmed as the fault, you need a replacement — programmed to your VIN with the correct operating system & calibration, then security-linked to your vehicle so it’ll start. This listing supplies exactly that, ready to fit.

Important — Verify Your Service Number Before Ordering

It’s critical to match your replacement to the same service number printed on your existing E67 ECU label. Service numbers vary across the HSV LSA Gen-F / Gen-F2 range and not every number is held in stock at all times.

Contact Envyous Customs with your service number before placing your order so we can confirm stock and the correct programming for your vehicle.

What We Do Before Shipping

Every E67 ECU we supply leaves us already programmed for your vehicle. Here’s what’s done at our end:

Done For You

Operating System Flash

Correct OS loaded for your service number so the ECU is ready for your vehicle.

Done For You

VIN & Calibration Programming

Your VIN and matching calibration are programmed in so the ECU is identified to your vehicle.

🔒
Why security linking is still needed after we ship

The E67 must be security-linked to your vehicle (your unique 4-digit immobiliser code + key data) before the engine will crank and start. This is done on the vehicle — choose your preferred method below.

Choose Your Final Security Linking Path

Pick one of the three options below as your variation at checkout. The included tasks for each path are slightly different — read carefully before choosing.

Includes Free OBDSync
Option 1

DIY With OBDSync

Do the security linking and relearns yourself at home. Your order includes an OBDSync scantool and 2 tokens — plug into the OBD-II port, follow the on-screen prompts.

Requires a Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit) laptop with internet. Recommended option for most customers.

True Plug & Play
Option 2

Ship Us Your Original ECU

Send us your original ECU and we’ll clone its data onto your replacement on our bench. The new unit then fits as a complete plug-and-play swap — no additional relearns needed in your driveway.

Best option if the original ECU is still communicating on the bench.

Workshop Costs • Not Recommended
Option 3

Local Workshop or Dealer

Take your new ECU and vehicle to a local dealership, mechanic or auto electrician with a suitable scantool to perform the security linking and relearns. Workshop labour fees apply separately — generally the most expensive path overall.

Confirm beforehand they can security-link a GM E67 ECU.

See OBDSync in Action (Option 1)

Considering the DIY OBDSync path? Here’s a full walkthrough of the OBDSync software programming and security linking a replacement HSV LSA engine computer — the same workflow you’ll follow at home if you pick Option 1:

Required On-Vehicle Steps (Options 1 & 3 Only)

If you choose Option 1 (DIY OBDSync) or Option 3 (Local Workshop), the following steps need to be performed on the vehicle with the new ECU fitted. They are not required for Option 2 (ship in original ECU to clone) — that path delivers a complete plug-and-play unit.

1
Step 1

Immobiliser Security Link

Binds the new ECU to your vehicle’s unique 4-digit immobiliser code and key data so the engine is authorised to start.

2
Step 2

Crankshaft Position Variation

Required so the ECU correctly reads crank position for ignition timing and misfire detection.

3
Step 3

Clutch Pedal Position (Manual Only)

Required only on manual transmission vehicles — calibrates the clutch pedal’s released / pressed reference points.

What We Need at Checkout

When you add this product to your cart you’ll be asked for the following details so we can supply the correct ECU and programming option:

  1. Service Number — the 8-digit number printed on the label of your existing E67 ECU (contact us to verify before ordering)
  2. VIN — your vehicle’s 17-character VIN, so we can flash the calibration to suit
  3. Programming Option — pick one of the three security linking paths above (DIY OBDSync / Ship in Original / Local Workshop)

Compatible Vehicles

Suits all HSV Gen-F and Gen-F2 vehicles fitted with the LSA 6.2L supercharged V8 engine and E67 ECU (2013–2017):

HSV GTS (Gen-F, 2013–2014)
HSV GTS (Gen-F2, 2015–2017)
HSV GTS Maloo / Maloo R8 LSA (Gen-F2)
HSV Clubsport R8 LSA SV Black Edition
HSV Senator Signature LSA (Gen-F2)
HSV Grange LSA (Gen-F2 variants)
ⓘ Naturally aspirated LS3? Non-supercharged Gen-F / Gen-F2 HSVs (LS3 6.2L NA) use the E38 ECU, not the E67. See our Holden VE / VF V8 E38 ECU product instead. The HSV W1 (LS9) uses a different ECU again.

Pre-programmed and ready to fit — just contact us to verify your service number, then pick your preferred security linking path.
