The Keyless Entry Module (KEM) on your VF Commodore or HSV Gen-F handles the passive keyless entry / push-button start system — including key fob detection, antenna polling and trigger logic. When the KEM is replaced it needs to be security linked to your VIN and loaded with the correct calibrations before the system will recognise your keys and the start button will work.
All programming is done in the vehicle via OBD-II using OBDSync on a Windows laptop — no need to remove or ship the KEM.
