DIY RG Colorado 2017-2020 Radio/Receiver Programming Service — security link a replacement MY17–MY20 facelift radio/receiver module to your VIN and push the latest factory calibration updates from GM.
Kit ships with an OBDSync scantool and 3-token redemption serial. Programmed in your driveway over OBD-II.
For MY17–MY20 RG Colorado utes only. Programs the radio/receiver module, not the touchscreen — for the touchscreen unit see our 2017-2020 HMI 2.5 listing. For 2013–2016 models see our 2013-2016 Radio listing.
Security link a replacement 2017–2020 facelift radio/receiver module to your VIN and push the latest GM calibration updates. DIY kit ships with an OBDSync scantool and a 3-token redemption serial — programmed in your driveway over OBD-II.
From MY17 the head unit was split into two programmable modules: this kit programs the Radio/Receiver (RAD) — the tuner/amp module behind the dash. For the touchscreen interface itself you also need our 2017-2020 HMI 2.5 kit. Replacing only one module? You only need that one kit.
The pre-facelift radio is a completely different unit. For 2013–2016 trucks you need our 2013-2016 Radio (RAD) Programming Service instead.
The 2017–2020 RG Colorado Radio/Receiver (RAD) is the rear infotainment module fitted to facelift trucks — the tuner, amplifier and audio-routing brain that talks to the HMI 2.5 touchscreen up front. When the receiver is replaced (after a fault or a swap from a wrecker), the new unit needs to be security linked to your VIN and loaded with the correct factory calibrations before the audio system will operate.
All programming is done in the vehicle via OBD-II using OBDSync on a Windows laptop — no need to remove or ship the radio.
Provide your VIN at checkout. We ship the OBDSync scantool with a printed 3-token redemption serial.
Download & install OBDSync (Windows 10 / 11, 64-bit). Sign in and enter your redemption serial to add the 3 tokens.
Plug the scantool into your Colorado’s OBD-II port, select Radio/Receiver (RAD) options in OBDSync, work completed in minutes.
