The Human Machine Interface (HMI 2.5) in your 2017–2020 RG Colorado is the touchscreen unit in the dash — the brain behind MyLink, Apple CarPlay / Android Auto, the rear camera display, navigation and audio control. When the HMI is replaced (after touch failure, water damage, or swapping in from a wrecker), the new unit needs to be security linked to your VIN and loaded with the correct factory calibrations before it will operate.
Beyond security linking, the HMI 2.5 kit also unlocks a stack of customisation & convenience options that aren’t exposed in the factory MyLink menus.
