The MY17 facelift changed the head unit hardware completely. For 2017–2020 trucks you need either our 2017-2020 Radio/Receiver kit (for the receiver module) or our 2017-2020 HMI 2.5 kit (for the touchscreen display unit) instead.
The 2013–2016 RG Colorado Radio (RAD) is the factory head unit fitted to pre-facelift models — the integrated radio / Bluetooth / CD unit with the smaller monochrome or basic colour display. When the radio is replaced (after a fault, water damage, or a swap from a wrecker), the new unit needs to be security linked to your VIN and loaded with the correct factory calibrations before it will operate.
All programming is done in the vehicle via OBD-II using OBDSync on a Windows laptop — no need to remove or ship the radio.
