This kit programs key fobs to your car, but does not supply the physical fobs themselves. Source genuine or compatible aftermarket CG2 Captiva fobs (eBay / locksmith) before running the procedure. Wrong-frequency or wrong-chip fobs won’t pair.
The Remote Function Actuation (RFA) module on your CG2 Captiva is the receiver for the central-locking key fob signals — lock, unlock, boot release, panic. Each fob has to be paired to the RFA before the car will respond to its buttons. With this kit you can add new fobs, erase and reprogram the whole set (useful if a fob is lost / stolen), or push calibration updates to a swapped-in RFA module.
All programming is done in the vehicle via OBD-II using OBDSync on a Windows laptop — no need to remove or ship the RFA.
