After security linking, the Park Brake Calibration procedure must be run to set the motor end-stops. Without this, the brake won’t correctly clamp or release. Follow the on-screen prompts in OBDSync — takes about 30 seconds.
The Park Brake Control Module (PBCM) on your CG2 Captiva drives the electric park brake system — two motorised calipers at the rear that replace the traditional cable handbrake. When the PBCM is replaced, the new unit needs to be security linked to your VIN, run the park brake calibration, and load the latest factory calibrations before the park brake will operate.
All programming is done in the vehicle via OBD-II using OBDSync on a Windows laptop — no need to remove or ship the PBCM.
