The Engine Control Module (ECM) in your CG2 Captiva is the brain that controls fuel injection, ignition timing, turbo boost (on diesels), DPF regeneration, EGR operation and the immobiliser handshake. When the ECM is replaced — or you want to push the latest factory calibrations — the unit needs to be security linked to your VIN before the car will start and run correctly.
All programming is done in the vehicle via OBD-II using OBDSync on a Windows laptop — no need to remove or ship the ECM.
Functions marked Diesel only apply to the 2.2L turbo diesel CG2 Captiva. All other functions apply to both petrol and diesel drivetrains.
The CG2 Captiva 2.2L turbo diesel is notorious for DPF and injector issues. Dealer trips for a DPF replacement reset, injector relearn or EGR cooler counter reset can easily run $200+ per visit — this kit pays for itself on the first job and stays with you for every future service.
