The Transmission Control Module (TCM) in your Chevrolet SS controls the 6L80 6-speed automatic — shift timing, line pressure, torque converter lockup and ongoing shift adaptation. The TR6060 6-speed manual cars don’t have a TCM. When you fit a replacement or second-hand TCM, it must be VIN-security-linked to your vehicle and the latest calibrations flashed. If you swap to a steering wheel with paddles or convert from a TCM that wasn’t set for paddles, you’ll also need to flash the paddle-shift enable.
This is a DIY kit. We ship you an OBDSync scantool plus the tokens needed to license the module — you run the programming yourself at home using a Windows laptop, and the module never has to leave your vehicle.
