The Transmission Control Module (TCM) in your Caprice PPV controls 6-speed automatic shift timing, line pressure, torque converter lockup and ongoing shift adaptation. When you fit a replacement or second-hand TCM, it must be VIN-security-linked to your vehicle before it will respond and shift correctly. The 2014–2017 PPV TCM also supports steering-wheel paddle shift, which can be enabled from this kit.
This is a DIY kit. We ship you an OBDSync scantool plus the tokens needed to license the module — you run the programming yourself at home using a Windows laptop, and the module never has to leave your vehicle.
