The Body Control Module (BCM) on the Pontiac G8 is the central body-electrics computer — lighting (including Daytime Running Lamps), central locking, brake-pedal monitoring, transmission interlocks and the cross-network handshake to the SDM (airbag) module. When you fit a replacement or second-hand BCM, the unit has to be VIN-security-linked to your vehicle, set for the correct transmission and DRL options, and the brake pedal position and SDM primary key have to be re-learned before the vehicle will start cleanly and the SRS light will clear.
This is a DIY kit. We ship you an OBDSync scantool plus the tokens needed to license the module — you run the programming yourself at home using a Windows laptop, and the module never has to leave your vehicle.
