The Keyless Entry Module (KEM) in your JH Cruze handles remote door lock / unlock requests from the key fob and acts as the radio receiver for the keyless entry system. When the KEM is replaced — or you want to pair a new replacement remote fob — the module needs to be security linked to your VIN and the new fobs registered.
All programming is done in the vehicle via OBD-II using OBDSync on a Windows laptop — no need to remove or ship the KEM.
