Security link a replacement right-side Side Blind Zone Alert (SBZA) sensor module to your VIN and push the latest GM calibration updates. DIY kit ships with an OBDSync scantool and a 2-token redemption serial — programmed in your driveway over OBD-II.
The left and right Side Object Modules are separate units with their own VIN security link. If you’ve replaced both, you’ll need this kit plus our RG Colorado SOML kit.
The Side Object Module Right (SOMR) on your RG Colorado is the rear-facing radar sensor mounted in the right (driver-side) rear quarter that drives the Side Blind Zone Alert system. When the SOMR is replaced — commonly after a rear quarter panel repair or a known fault — it needs to be security linked to your VIN and loaded with the correct factory calibrations to operate.
All programming is done in the vehicle via OBD-II using OBDSync on a Windows laptop — no need to remove or ship the SOMR.
