The LGCM doesn’t require a VIN security link — just a calibration flash with the correct factory file. A swapped-in module will operate immediately once the calibration is loaded.
The Liftgate Control Module (LGCM) drives the factory power tailgate on Sportwagon and Caprice WN models — controlling the strut motors, anti-pinch sensors, height memory and remote open / close commands. When the LGCM is replaced (typically after a failure or after a damaged tailgate is repaired), the new module needs to be flashed with the latest factory calibrations before the tailgate will move correctly.
All programming is done in the vehicle via OBD-II using OBDSync on a Windows laptop — no need to remove or ship the LGCM.
The LGCM calibration flash uses 1 token, but the OBDSync kit ships with a 2-token serial as standard — you’ll have 1 spare token on your account for any other supported module job.
