The Park Brake Control Module (PBCM) on your VF Commodore or HSV Gen-F drives the electric park brake (EPB) calipers at the rear. When you replace the PBCM — or service / replace a rear caliper that uses the EPB — the module needs to be security linked and the handbrake position sensor needs to be relearned so the EPB applies and releases with the correct force.
All programming is done in the vehicle via OBD-II using OBDSync on a Windows laptop — no need to remove or ship the PBCM.
